Dourado tem sua melhor participação em Jogos Regionais
Cidade levou a maior delegação da história com 133 atletas em 17 modalidades
Chegou ao fim a 59ª edição dos Jogos Regionais, competição organizada pelo Governo do Estado de São Paulo, realizada este ano na cidade de Santa Bárbara d’Oeste, e Dourado tem muito a comemorar a participação na competição, pois fez sua melhor campanha na história, com a conquista de 12 medalhas, sendo 4 de ouro, 4 de prata e 4 de bronze, ficando assim na 7ª colocação da 2ª Divisão.
Outro fator a celebrar é que as modalidades do tae-kwon-do masculino, handebol feminino, 50 metros nado borboleta e tênis de mesa, ganhadoras da medalha de ouro, representarão Dourado nos Jogos Abertos do Interior, que acontecerão ainda este ano em Ribeirão Preto.
Destaque também para a atleta douradense, Iara Baldim, que faturou a medalha de prata, na prova dos 50 metros nado peito.
Dourado também levou aos jogos sua maior delegação com 133 atletas, que disputaram 17 modalidades. A delegação contou com atletas da cidade e da USP São Carlos, com quem o município mantém parceria.
O prefeito de Dourado, Luiz Antonio Rogante Junior (PP), Juninho Rogante, ficou muito feliz com a campanha douradense e disse que espera mais conquistas nos Jogos Abertos. “Parabenizo todos nossos atletas pela participação e todos nossos medalhistas pelas conquistas, nunca Dourado teve tanto destaque em uma competição esportiva como nestes jogos, tenho certeza que as modalidades que irão nos representar nos Jogos Abertos em Ribeirão Preto também se destacarão”, enfatizou.
Juninho também citou a importância da participação do município em eventos esportivos. “Além do incentivo ao esporte como promoção à saúde e qualidade de vida, nossa participação destaca e eleva o nome do município na região, ganhando o respeito esportivo de outras cidades”, reforçou.
Realizados no período de 15 a 25 de julho, os Jogos Regionais movimentaram atletas, técnicos e equipes de apoio de 40 municípios da 3ª região esportiva do Estado de São Paulo.
Piracicaba sagrou-se campeã da divisão principal e Lençóis Paulista a campeã da divisão de acesso. A próxima edição acontece no que vem, na cidade de Barra Bonita.
