O programa tem como foco a criança e seu desenvolvimento. Sua forma de funcionamento é por meio da intersetorialidade, articulando, especialmente Saúde, Educação e Assistência e Desenvolvimento Social. Para isso objetiva gerar conhecimento para promover esse desenvolvimento.
Os profissionais envolvidos têm sido capacitados e os resultados são impressionantes. As formações vão desde o pré-natal, humanização do parto, espaços lúdicos, grupos de família, educação infantil. Apenas o fato dos profissionais conversarem sobre as questões referentes às crianças e atuarem em rede diminui custos e potencializa, em muito, a resolução de problemas.
Além disso, o programa preconiza o envolvimento da comunidade, das organizações da sociedade civil e todos aqueles que estão interessados com um futuro diferente. “Cuidar das crianças agora, já na primeira infância, é a única garantia que temos de um futuro melhor. O ambiente e as condições em que as crianças nascem e se desenvolvem são muito importantes para seu desenvolvimento, será saudável ou não, e, assim será nossa sociedade, tal qual proporcionarmos às crianças”, enfatiza Edna.
Estavam presentes a Drads Araraquara, representada por Edna Martins e Paulo Albano; a DRS, representada pela Cristina; a Fundação Maria Cecilia Souto Vidigal, representada pela coordenadora Priscila; e profissionais da educação, saúde e assistência social da região.
