O Grupo da Melhor Idade em Ação de Dourado, esteve participando no sábado (6), da Expoflora, a maior exposição de flores e plantas ornamentais da América Latina, realizada anualmente na cidade de Holambra.
A diretora de Assistência Social do município, Inês M. de Oliveira, acompanhou a excursão que contou com cerca de 50 pessoas.
Na Expoflora o grupo visitou a famosa exposição de flores e plantas ornamentais, os lançamentos de novas espécies, acompanharam a 10ª mostra de paisagismo e jardinagem, conheceram o Shopping das Flores e as tradicionais danças e comidas típicas holandesas. Os douradenses também puderam se emocionar com a chuva de pétalas, evento que atrai multidões de todos os lugares do pais. Pétalas coloridas e perfumadas de aproximadamente 150 quilos de rosas são lançadas por um equipamento especial, instalado em uma grande área livre, sobre uma multidão que desfruta a chuva multicolorida. Nos finais de semana, as pétalas são lançadas em todo parque por um helicóptero.
Essas viagens e passeios trazem inúmeros benefícios aos participantes do Grupo da Melhor Idade. Especialistas descobriram que fazer turismo, conhecer e interagir com pessoas e locais diferentes estimula a vontade de viver e a auto-estima, contribuindo para a saúde e a longevidade. Não é à toa que, portanto, viajar está cada vez mais relacionado à qualidade de vida para a terceira idade.
A visita a Expoflora, faz parte das atividades de turismo, entretenimento e bem estar desenvolvidos pelo Grupo da Melhor Idade em Ação, que conta com o apoio da Prefeitura Municipal de Dourado.
Explofora – O maior evento do ramo realizado na América Latina, não se caracteriza como feira, pois o seu objetivo não é vender, mas, sim, mostrar ao público as flores e plantas ornamentais cultivadas por mais de 400 produtores que atuam em Holambra. A antiga colônia holandesa, hoje uma cidade que, apesar de contar com pouco mais de 11 mil habitantes, é o maior centro de cultivo e comercialização de flores e plantas ornamentais do país, respondendo por mais de 50% (mais da metade) das vendas do setor. Os produtores aproveitam a exposição para lançar novas variedades de flores e plantas, ditar tendências no paisagismo e decoração e para avaliar a sua aceitação pelo consumidor.
