Newton Lima debate banda larga com ministro da Comunicação
Reunião aconteceu na terça-feira (23)
O deputado federal Newton Lima (PT-SP) relator da subcomissão especial destinada a acompanhar o Plano Nacional de Banda Larga (PNBL) reuniu-se na terça-feira (23) com o ministro das Comunicações, Paulo Bernardo, e com os demais membros da subcomissão para discutir a universalização da banda larga em todas as regiões brasileiras. Os contratos de concessão das empresas de telefonia também foram debatidos.
Para Newton Lima, a banda larga ainda deve ser discutida profundamente. “Quanto maior o acesso, mais barato é o serviço pago pelos consumidores e, consequentemente, maior a qualidade oferecida aos consumidores”, afirmou
O ministro destacou a importância da subcomissão na Câmara dos Deputados. Ele esclareceu que o acesso à internet é meta do governo Dilma. “Colocar 90% dos brasileiros usando internet é prioridade”, declarou.
Paulo Bernardo citou ainda que o investimento em infraestrutura é fundamental para a eficiência da internet no Brasil. “A subcomissão tem que conversar com a indústria”, solicitou.
40 milhões – O PNBL foi lançado em 2010 pelo governo federal e uma das metas é garantir acesso à banda larga a 40 milhões de domicílios brasileiros até 2014, à velocidade de no mínimo 1 Mbps (megabit por segundo). Em 2011, a Comissão de Ciência e Tecnologia também acompanhou o PNBL por meio da subcomissão especial, também relatada por Newton Lima. “A banda larga é instrumento fundamental do desenvolvimento econômico e da democracia do acesso à melhor qualidade de vida”, disse.
