Os convênios do Projeto Vivaleite na região de Araraquara foram renovados por meio da Secretaria de Desenvolvimento Social essa semana. O programa beneficia 7.357 crianças de 26 municípios da região. São 110.355 litros de leite distribuídos por ano com investimentos de R$ 167.603,85 do Governo do Estado.
Os convênios foram renovados por mais dois anos, até 2015, com os municípios: Araraquara, Américo Brasiliense, Boa Esperança do Sul, Borborema, Cândido Rodrigues, Descalvado, Dobrada, Dourado, Fernando Prestes, Gavião Peixoto, Ibaté, Ibitinga, Itápolis, Matão, Motuca, Nova Europa, Porto Ferreira, Ribeirão Bonito, Rincão, Santa Ernestina, Santa Lucia, Santa Rita D’oeste, São Carlos, Tabatinga, Taquaritinga e Trabiju.
O Vivaleite é um projeto social de distribuição gratuita de leite fluido, pasteurizado, com teor de gordura mínimo de 3%, enriquecido com ferro e vitaminas A e D. Em janeiro de 2011, sua gestão foi transferida da Secretaria de Agricultura para a Secretaria de Desenvolvimento Social. São 117 milhões de litros de leite distribuídos por ano pelo Governo do Estado.
