Após incêndio em boate, 118 pacientes seguem internados no Rio Grande do Sul

Cerca de 55 horas após o incêndio na Boate Kiss que deixou 231 mortos, 118 pacientes continuam internados em Santa Maria ou na capital do estado, Porto Alegre. Desses, 20 estão com queimaduras graves e compõem um grupo de 75 pessoas que estão em estado crítico, com risco de morte.
O número de internados com problemas menos graves, no entanto, diminuiu e seis pessoas receberam alta de ontem para terça-feira (29). O ministro da Saúde, Alexandre Padilha, e a Secretaria de Saúde do município de Santa Maria dão atenção especial aos pacientes que ainda correm o risco de morrer, mas comemoram que nenhum novo caso de morte tenha sido registrado entre os feridos após o incêndio.
“Nós temos 75 pacientes que estão em estado crítico, precisam de atenção e podem vir a óbito. Mas, em uma tragédia como essa, conseguir 54 horas sem mortes é muito bom, muito importante”, disse o ministro esta manhã.
As autoridades de saúde mantêm a prática de transferir os pacientes de Santa Maria para Porto Alegre, de modo a garantir reserva de vagas para novos casos de pneumonite química que possam surgir. Segundo o ministro, até seis dias após inalar a fumaça tóxica do incêndio as pessoas podem apresentar sintomas como falta de ar, cansaço e tosse que tendem a evoluir de forma rápida para insuficiência respiratória.
Um comitê de gerenciamento de crise foi montado no Hospital Caridade, em Santa Maria, para monitorar os pacientes que correm risco de morte e os novos casos de pneumonite que surgirem. Além disso, o comitê, que é formado por médicos e autoridades de saúde, também está atuando para oferecer atenção às famílias das pessoas que morreram no incêndio.
De acordo com Padilha, já foi feito um mapeamento para localizar as famílias que perderam parentes para que recebam atenção psicológica. A Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM), onde estudava a maior parte dos jovens que morreram no incêndio, já forneceu os endereços dos estudantes de outros municípios e as prefeituras dessas cidades já foram acionadas para oferecerem suporte às famílias.
“O Caps [Centro de Apoio Psicossocial] de Santa Maria está funcionando 24 horas com pronto-atendimento para familiares e amigos que estejam sentindo algum tipo de distúrbio emocional. Nós também temos o apoio grande de um grupo da PUC [Pontifícia Universidade Católica] do Rio Grande do Sul que atuou na tragédia das Torres Gêmeas e é especializado em cuidar do suporte psicológico de pacientes de traumas como esse”, disse o ministro.
Padilha segue para Porto Alegre hoje para acompanhar a situação dos pacientes internados na capital, mas retorna à tarde para Santa Maria. Ainda não há previsão para que o ministro deixe o Rio Grande do Sul.
