Governo aumenta quantidade de etanol na gasolina

O percentual de etanol misturado à gasolina passará de 20% para 25% a partir do dia 1º de maio. O anúncio foi feito nesta quarta-feira (30) pelo ministro de Minas e Energia, Edison Lobão, depois de reunião com o ministro da Fazenda, Guido Mantega, e representantes do setor de etanol.
A ideia inicial era que a elevação da mistura fosse feita em junho, mas o governo decidiu antecipar a vigência. Segundo Edison Lobão, a expectativa do governo é que a medida ajude a reduzir o impacto do aumento do preço da gasolina, que teve reajuste de 6,6% nas refinarias.
Segundo o ministro, os produtores garantiram ao governo “de mãos juntas” que vão abastecer o mercado, aumentando a produção de 22 bilhões para 26 bilhões ou 27 bilhões de litros de etanol por ano. Em 2011, o percentual de álcool anidro adicionado à gasolina teve redução de 5 pontos percentuais por causa da falta do produto. “O governo também vai estudar a possibilidade de incentivar ainda mais o setor de etanol”, disse.
Edison Lobão também garantiu que o governo vai fiscalizar os postos de combustíveis para evitar aumentos abusivos no preço da gasolina. “O governo vai fiscalizar rigorosamente com a Agência Nacional do Petróleo. O mercado é livre, mas não deve exceder o limite do razoável”.
