A Escola de Samba Mocidade Alegre é bicampeã do carnaval de São Paulo. Com o samba-enredo sobre sedução e tentação, a agremiação alcançou 268,9 pontos, mesma quantidade que a Rosas de Ouro. No entanto, a Mocidade teve maiores notas em enredo, primeiro quesito considerado para o desempate.
O resultado é o mesmo do carnaval de 2012, quando a Mocidade Alegre ficou em primeiro lugar e a Rosas de Ouro em segundo. Desde 1967, quando foi fundada, a agremiação conquistou os títulos de 1971, 1972, 1973, 1980, 2004, 2007 e 2009, 2012 e 2013.
A apuração das notas das escolas de samba que desfilaram em 2013 em São Paulo teve plateia reduzida neste ano. Por determinação da prefeitura, cada agremiação pôde ter apenas dez representantes, o que totalizou 140 pessoas na arquibancada. Além disso, o efetivo policial no momento da apuração foi elevado e contou também com 160 seguranças contratados especialmente para a contagem dos votos.
As medidas foram tomadas para evitar incidentes como o ocorrido no ano passado, quando integrantes de escolas de samba invadiram a área dos jurados e rasgaram os votos. Até então, a apuração era organizada pela Liga Independente das Escolas de Samba. Depois da confusão, a prefeitura decidiu administrar o evento.
