Rádio comemora Dia Mundial e chega a 88% das residências do país

Apesar do avanço de novas mídias e da expansão do acesso à internet, o rádio continua sendo um dos principais veículos de informação dos brasileiros. Segundo a Associação Brasileira de Emissoras de Rádio e Televisão (Abert), o rádio – que comemora hoje seu dia mundial – está presente em 88,1% dos domicílios do país, perdendo apenas para a televisão, que tem penetração de cerca de 97%.
O país tem aproximadamente 9,4 mil emissoras de rádio em funcionamento, incluindo emissoras comerciais AM e FM e rádios comunitárias. O número é mais que o dobro do registrado há dez anos, segundo dados do Ministério das Comunicações. Nos estados de São Paulo e Minas Gerais estão concentrados os maiores números de emissoras, com 1,4 mil e 1,3 mil, respectivamente.
O número de aparelhos de rádio convencionais passa de 200 milhões no Brasil, além de 23,9 milhões de receptores em automóveis e do acesso por aparelhos celulares, que somam cerca de 90 milhões. Isso sem falar no acesso às emissoras pela internet, por meio de computadores e smartphones. Aproximadamente 80% das emissoras do país já transmitem sua programação pela rede mundial de computadores.
O presidente da Abert, Daniel Slaviero, destaca que o rádio está se adaptando às novas tecnologias para disputar o mercado altamente competitivo da informação e do entretenimento. “Acreditamos no futuro do rádio, não como nossos pais e avós o conheceram, mas inovador, ágil, interativo e com a mesma importância social, eficiência comunicativa e proximidade com as comunidades e os ouvintes. Aos 90 anos, não há dúvida de que o rádio está em plena reinvenção”, avalia.
Para o ministro das Comunicações, Paulo Bernardo, o rádio faz parte da cultura dos brasileiros e não perderá espaço porque está acompanhando a evolução do setor. “Neste momento especial de transformações tecnológicas e do aparecimento de outras mídias, o rádio segue firme no nosso dia a dia porque também se transformou. Hoje é comum, corriqueiro, ouvirmos a transmissão da programação também pela internet, direto das redações das emissoras”, diz. O ministro garante que o governo trabalha para dar à radiodifusão a flexibilidade e pujança necessárias para continuar a crescer.
