Uma controvérsia tem pairado por séculos no mundo econômico: capital e mercados como agentes impulsionadores, ou socialismo com centralização das ações nas mãos do governo. No Brasil, as condições de vida permaneceram muito apertadas por longo período. No pós-guerra, não havia quase nada além de alguma produção agrícola.
Diminuta circulação de dinheiro e mercadorias. Poucos empregos, salários baixos, muitas dificuldades. Havia um desejo de melhora, mas também um descontentamento devido à situação difícil e com forte dependência do exterior para quase tudo – de remédios a automóveis, permanecendo frequentemente sob crise cambial. Havia também o anseio de nos aproximarmos do elevado padrão de vida fartamente exibido pelos filmes americanos.
Nos subterrâneos era gestada uma rebelião contra as amarras que mantinham tudo semiestagnado. Intelectuais e artistas se deixavam seduzir por ideias socialistas, como sendo a utopia salvadora que traria o dinamismo econômico próprio em oposição a interesses externos de dominação.
Vinte anos após o término da Segunda Guerra Mundial, o inconformismo foi tomando tal vulto que culminou no golpe de direita ocorrido em março de 1964 com pronto reconhecimento dos Estados Unidos. Há meio século Jango Goulart era destituído da Presidência. Envolvida pelo forte apelo promocional de massa, a população criou um alento e expectativas de melhor futuro.
Afinal o Brasil foi caminhando aos tropeços. Surgiu a indústria automobilística retrógrada, com carros defasados e preços nas alturas. Planos megalômanos, fortalecimento das empresas estatais, progressivo endividamento externo. Não foi conquistada uma sólida estrutura de produção, consumo e evolução humana. Mas logo chegamos na crise da dívida. Se antes era difícil, com a crise ficou impossível cuidar dos interesses com autonomia.
As estruturas oscilaram, veio a abertura. As forças armadas se recolheram aos quartéis. Estavam abertas as portas para a democracia brasileira amarrada ao lastro da dívida. Grande parte dos integrantes da classe política procedeu da estirpe clientelista, apegada aos interesses pessoais, visando a conservação do poder.
A dupla problemática, dívida externa e a inflação galopante, bateram forte mantendo o país estagnado por décadas, sem ferrovias, sem malha viária, portos em atraso. A educação perdeu o rumo. Cinquenta anos após, pouco evoluímos, como se estivéssemos de novo num ponto de ruptura. Há pessimismo e desesperança. Ainda permanecem os fantasmas dos desequilíbrios nas contas internas e externas. Os governantes ainda não trataram com seriedade a questão dos déficits, permitindo que se tornassem perigosos, submetendo a população a um extraordinário dispêndio com juros.
Ainda nos falta um objetivo comum de alcançar melhor futuro consciente de que cada um é responsável pelo seu destino, tendo de se preparar, compreender a vida, estabelecer metas, colocar-se em movimento.
Os planos centralizados fundamentados no socialismo ou em governo ditatorial mostraram-se inadequados onde foram implantados. O que poderia ser feito? Uma possibilidade seria um planejamento desenvolvido pelos empresários, com o apoio do governo e participação da população visando a melhora geral das condições de vida e da qualidade humana da população, a estabilidade econômica, a autonomia. Poderemos esperar algo semelhante, ou o Brasil continuará sendo joguete na mão dos aproveitadores inescrupulosos?
A nossa vida é uma caminhada que compreende a infância, juventude, a fase adulta, e a maturidade que surge com o avanço da idade. Querer fincar raízes no material é como fincar estacas no pântano; por isso temos de pensar na transcendentalidade da vida e fazer esforço para compreendê-la.
Se alguns pretenderem se arrogar a donos do mundo querendo comandar tudo, visando poder e recompensas terrenas, podem brincar com isso; não alteram a realidade espiritual em nada. Mas se desejarem construir em honra do Criador Todo Poderoso, então poderão construir na Terra uma cópia que se assemelhe ao mundo perfeito que se orienta pelas leis naturais da Criação, as quais expressam a vontade do Criador de Todos os Mundos. Haverá então paz, prosperidade e evolução espiritual da humanidade. Porém, se não for esse o caso, nada conseguirá desviar a espécie humana da trajetória de decadência, sofrimentos e miséria.
