Rodovias da região registram mais de 800 acidentes
De acordo com a Polícia Militar Rodoviária, quanto às causas, talvez a principal seja a imprudência dos motoristas

Está cada vez mais comum ver notícias com acidentes nas estradas de São Carlos e região. Todos os dias os noticiários apresentam algum imprevisto nas Rodovias Washington Luís (SP-310), Engenheiro Thales de Lorena Peixoto Junior (SP-318) e Professor Luís Augusto de Oliveira (SP-215).
Com um maior fluxo de veículos, pois liga São Carlos a importantes municípios da região e à Capital Paulista, a SP-310 foi a que mais registrou incidentes até a primeira quinzena de julho. No total aconteceram 711 acidentes, sendo 527 sem vítimas e 184 com alguma pessoa machuca, contabilizando 224 leves, 54 graves e 29 fatais.
Na mesma rodovia, durante o ano inteiro de 2013 as ocorrências de acidentes foram 1322. Em 976 delas ninguém se feriu e em 346 houve vítimas, nas quais 346 leves, 95 graves e 32 fatais.
Os dados acima são correspondentes ao km 217, em São Carlos, até o km 291, em Araraquara, passando pela cidade de Ibaté.
Na SP-218, do km 235, São Carlos, até o km 280, em Rincão, tendo Américo Brasiliense e Santa Lúcia entre o trajeto, já foram registrados 64 acidentes até o momento, contra 71 em 2013, sendo que 23 registraram vítimas e 29 não.
Do total das vítimas, 26 foram socorridas com lesões leves, quatro graves e cinco pessoas não resistiram e perderam a vida. Em 2013, sete vítimas foram fatais no trecho.
Bastante questionada devido aos acidentes de grandes proporções e que chamam a atenção, a SP-215, no trecho que corresponde ao km 131, em São Carlos, até o Obelisco, centro do Estado de São Paulo, no km 209, tendo entre este espaço os municípios de Ribeirão Bonito e Dourado, anotou um total de 63 acidentes, onde, devido aos imprevistos, 29 pessoas foram socorridas com ferimentos leves, oito em estado grave e sete não resistiram. Em 213, o número de vítimas fatais foi de 15.
De acordo com a Polícia Militar Rodoviária, quanto às causas, talvez a principal seja a imprudência dos motoristas, que trafegam em alta velocidade, se arriscam em ultrapassagens perigosas e em locais proibidos, sendo que o excesso de velocidade diminui o tempo de reação do motorista.
Ainda segundo a polícia, a melhor orientação é que os condutores de veículos respeitem as leis de trânsito e suas regulamentações, pois se cada um dirigir de forma correta, com certeza terá uma grande diminuição no número de acidentes, principalmente os de maior gravidade, ficando uma pequena parcela aos casos fortuitos, que não dependem da condução humana.
